Frequently Asked Questions

Paint code for vehicle colour can be found here

Where is my paint code?

Every vehicle has a paint code from the manufacturer. Not all codes are easy to find, especially Fords. They are generally on the door pillar, under the engine bay or sometimes in the boot. They are usually a mixture of numbers and letters, for example LB9A.

What paint do I need?

For most vehicles, you will need either a 2k or basecoat paint.

2k is for solid colours and does not require a lacquer.

Basecoat paints will need a lacquer to go over the top. This is usually for metallic and pearl colours.

If paint code is unknown we can match to a paint chip

Colour Matching

We can colour match using either colour chips or our special spectrophotometer. If you'd like us to scan a piece, please pop into our store or send us a part. It must be a flat surface and at least 3"x3".
